Termini predavanja:

May 13, 10:00 - 11:00 h

Prof. Mikulas Huba:

Should We Forget the PID Control?

Abstract: Proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control represents the most used automatic control technology and the PI controller is the prevailing controller in practice. Despite this apparent dominance of PI and PID controllers, it can be shown that in reality everything can be significantly more complicated, even regulators that do not have any integrator are called integral and thus the current development of automatic control deserves more attention, precision and often substantial reassessments. The presentation is dedicated to a brief reminder of the contribution of the first pioneers in the field of automatic control, along with pointing out the roots of misunderstandings appearing later and the newest problems arrising in top applications with higher-order derivative degrees.

May 13, 11:15 - 12:15 h

Prof. Peter Tapak:

Unmanned ground vehicle with Robot operating system (ROS)

Abstract: This presentation provides overview  of essential components in Robot Operating System (ROS), focusing on ROS architecture, Gazebo Simulator's capabilities, model control via ROS, and mapping and Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) techniques. It includes a demonstration of localization and navigation using a virtual model.

May 14, 10:00 - 11:00 h

Prof. Pavol Bistak:

PID Controllers with Higher Order Derivatives in the Form of Virtual Laboratories

Abstract: The presentation deals with the design of control algorithms for dynamic systems that can be modeled using a first-order transfer function with a transport delay. A specific feature of the design is that, unlike the usual procedures, higher orders of the derivative of the control error are also used. The second part of the presentation is devoted to virtual laboratories as a supporting tool for verifying the quality of the designed controllers.

May 14, 11:15 - 12:15 h

Prof. Peter Tapak:

Mobile app for periodical vehicle inspections

Abstract: Key topics include an overview of the periodical vehicle inspection processes, basics of vehicle networking with a focus on CAN bus and OBD, fundamentals of brake testing, and an examination of common frauds among PTI stations in the Slovak Republic. Additionally, the presentation showcases a mobile app used in the Slovak Republic, highlighting its features such as photo capturing, OBD data reading, and brake measurement capabilities.
